Essential in any kitchen, the mortar and pestle are quicker than a knife for crushing nuts, reducing garlic to a paste, grinding ginger or peppers to infuse flavor, or grinding whole spices into powder.

The inside of our mortar and the bottom of our pestle are unglazed, leaving the natural clay surface which helps grind the ingredients.

The spout is useful for keeping the pestle in place and, of course, for emptying the mortar.
