This large, straight-bladed, hand-forged knife is ideal for cutting vegetables. The hollow in the blade allows you to chop without the vegetables sticking to the knife. Ideal for preparing cabbage, carrots and even French fries! Very popular in Japan, the Nakiri allows many cuts to the delight of fans of crunchy, sliced and diced vegetables. The carved handle is inspired by the fusion of an oriental and western style.

Care
Hand wash and wipe clean after each use. Carbon steel will develop a natural patina (oxidation) that helps protect the blade. It may rust if not properly dried. Using a wooden or plastic cutting board will prolong the edge of the blade. Avoid cutting on ceramic, bamboo, glass or stone, and avoid cutting on bones or frozen food. Use a food grade oil or wax to nourish the wood of the handle as needed. Do not soak or put in the dishwasher. Wash before first use and sharpen as needed.
